God has placed a burdon on my heart today to have us all pray for people in our lives who are sick. At least at every point in my life, I've known someone who is ill and hurting, but unfortunately I haven't always prayed for them. I hope by reading this post, all of you would receive a burdon from God to pray for the sick, and then keep on praying every day until you see them get better. James 5:13-16 is a great passage on the specifics of healing: "Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

I gathered a few things from that passage that are hard to grasp, but I desire with everything in me to fully embrace them:

1. If you or anyone around you is hurting, pray.
2. Have the leaders of your church pray for you to be healed.
3. Confess your sins and pray for each other, "so that you will be healed".
4. When you are in Christ, your prayers are powerful!

Jesus gave his disciples these commands when he sent them out to preach the Good News, and I believe they still applies today: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!" - Matthew 10:8.
