The Best Free Christian Music on Amazon Prime
I've been listening to a lot of wonderful Christian artists lately and thought I'd share the best of what's available on Amazon Prime Music thus far. For those of you out there with Amazon Prime memberships, this post may help you discover some excellent, free music for your listening enjoyment. For those of you who don't have Amazon Prime, these artists are still worth looking into. In my lists below, I call some music "worship" music. To be clear, I don't agree with the way that some Christian music is treated as "worship" while others are just called "Christian artists". I understand some of the reasoning behind it, but it definitely contributes to a misunderstanding of worship in the church. Worship is not just a style of music or a time where we all stand together on a Sunday morning; it is a lifestyle that is centered on the pursuit of the glory of God. In any case, I will follow the standard jargon if only to show you quickly what style each artist is.
Worship Music:
- Bethel, especially their album called We Will Not Be Shaken
- Phil Wickham, especially his album Ascension
- Rend Collective
- All Sons & Daughters
- Elevation Worship
- Jesus Culture
- Capella Gregoriana (great for a change up from contemporary worship. There's something powerful about Gregorian Chant worship)
- Chris Rice, especially his Peace Like a River: The Hymns Project (that album has some really beautiful renditions of old hymns that I worship with often)
- The Digital Age
Other Christian Artists:
- NEEDTOBREATH
- Lacrae (this rapper has some of the most theologically-deep lyrics I have ever heard. Listen to it even if you don't like rap!)
- Switchfoot (an all-time favorite)
- John Mark McMillan (some of his music would be categorized as "worship")
Please leave comments with any other Christian music you found on Amazon Prime that you'd like to share!
